I have some new GTP arms in my basement along with the SHONUT GTP reducing kit. I know that the arms will have to be cut down, but what do you suggest that I cut the threads shorter with? I have searched but no search tells me these answers? Where exactly do I install the sleeves (little cylinder pieces) at on the arms also?

I would like to get them ready to install since there is snow on the ground today, this will give a chance to do something inside! :D

From what I have been told by several sources, the GTP arms do not need to be trimmed for a Gen II.

I don't know the particular differences with the Gen I and GenII regarding these. When I cut mine I used a sawzall. You could use a hacksaw if you had time to ****. Anything that won't really muck up the threads on the end very much. If you do this be sure to give the bare metal a little paint or primer. It will rust quickly once exposed.

It depends on when you purchased the arms. The older arms did not need to be trimmed, whereas the newer arms (newer part number) do need to be trimmed.

Cut about 1/2 inch off of each side of the arm. It's important to cut on both parts rather than doubling up on one side, otherwise you run out of thread and you stress one part too much.

The sleeves go inside the bushings. It will be obvious when you install them.

Ya, I purchased these just within the last three weeks with the new part #, so I will just have to trim off a little bit on each thread on either side of the adjusting nut then. thumb Thanks, Mike.

Jason the part # on the arms I got is 10329694.
