Sweet. Keep us updated. We should start a turbo SHO only thread. This one will make 9 or 10, at least. A few years ago, I would never have thought. Very cool.

What do you mean by it will make 9 or 10? I'm not following you. And I will deffinatly have pictures coming up. Thanks.

Just to give you all an update, I did the top 60K sevice with Brian from the PA sho shop. Put in big bore butterflies, gasket matched the heads and ported the intake. When I got home I got a nasty fuel leak out of some of the injectors, so I'm going to tow it back up and fix that. Then we'll put in the clutch, and do the front 60K service. Ontop of that we are going to weld the diff to keep the pin from flying out. Ontop of this I have baer brake upgrades to go on. Sloted and drilled. They are going to be awsome. Well thats all for now, I'll keep you posted as the project progresses.

i personally have had great results with the safc i have seen the actual changes in the butt dyno at the pump and on the mustang dyno using a wiude band and and a smog machine /dyno set up to actual see the emissions output compaired to hp and torque. i have a setting where i went in and only adjusted for the highest c02 output in at 500 prm intervals then at 100 rpm intervails between 3000 and 5000 rpms. thae mpg and gas output has time and time again proven itself. saving lots of $ and wear.. on other settigs it has giving more power smoother etc...

I'm afraid it won't be. I have most all of the parts except for the fpr and throttle body plate mounting thingy. I just emailed Ashley about doing it on the 25th or 18th of July if I have the parts by then. So I don't think it will be ready for the picnic. Sorry guys.

timming retard

just my experience
Do it cheap its like do it two times or three. You will need timing control because the stock n/a sho timming curves are agressive, and these cars have high compression then, SHOBOOM.
The twecer works fine but you will need a wide band to properly tune it, the but dyno works but with some help.
Im working the timming curve and noticed that the sho love timming retard when boosted, and timing advance when cruising, if you cant retard or lower compresion try not to go more than 10 to 12 pounds of boost with a good intercooler. the car flyes on 6 pounds of boost. other thing to try is water-methanol injection wich is a good safeguard against SHOBOOM.

I have stock internals and the tweecer and the SAFC II... go take a look at my A/F in the dyno archives.... I tuned the whole car without a dyno, we are doing the same setup EXACTLY THE SAME turbo, injectors, fuel pump, etc,etc..... and i am going to burn my tweecer tune and then use my fuel curve from the SAFCII and put into his anything a little different that needs to be tweaked. The SAFC makes for good daily driving and cruising, and He should have no problems with 12-13lbs with out forged pistons, however, that will be the next step for him. As long as he keeps it off the rev limiter...that is SHOBOOM. lol.

also john you can reuse throttle body gaskets you dont need a new one.
and if you want one that bad i have a brand new one i havent used yet ;)

Oh sorry man, I said the wrong thing. I am waiting on a mass air flow adaptor, not a throttle body gasket. Thanks though dude.

*UPDATE
Finished the 60 thousand mile service and fixed the fuel injector leak. 3 of the valves were out of whack and 2 of the cam seals were leaking. Got the big bore butterflies fixed and working after tearing them completely apart with Brian.
We also welded the diff and put a stage 4 clutch and ceramic tob to finish all of the tranny work. It sure does grip, but it chatters on starting from a dead stop. That I don't like at all, but Brian assures me that it will go away and I believe him. This thing is either on or off, there is no in between. I also feel assured now that the diff is welded that I won't throw a pin. Brian said the tranny was one of the best he has ever seen, so I am able to sleep at night once again.
Also installed Baer brakes which will about put you though the windshield if you slam them on.
The date is set for Friday, July the 25 to go down and do the work. I can't wait.
That is all.
Well, Ashley and Paul, any comments?

yeah the clutch chatter is hard to get used to, but you will.... right now you are running a stage 4 clutch on a almost stock car..once you have the boost behind it, it will be fine for daily driving, heck, I'm a girl and i drive mine all the time...it is easy once you learn. can't wait for you to come down, and i guess we'll see you in PA on the 18th.
