Holy crap. That car is awesome. Let alone the dry sump setup.

Actually my customized oil pan is getting welded this weekend and should be back monday. Then another test fit next weekend hopefully. I am ordering some exhaust flanges from SHOsource soon. Now the goal is to get the rust fixed and that is now the priorty. Got to order new jack points and small part of the unibody. Ahh the fun of FeO2

You're looking at many of the same things I'm addressing right now. I just cut out my transmission tunnel yesterday afternoon.

I would really like to do a dry sump, however I cannot justify the cost of an $800-$900 pump! Instead I plan on modifying the factory pan. I will clean it until it's fit to eat off of, and then I will have it professionally tig welded. I am confident that the welds will provide a good seal.

And BTW, I plan to make up for the lost volume by making the pan wider to the passenger side only, as I believe the starter on the driver's side will most likely prevent me from widening it on that side.

also of note w/ a custom pan, the stock pan is already quite close to the main caps, so a custom pan isnt gonna gain you much room there

Yea I totally ditched the dry sump setup. not worth it. LOL

The pan in reality can not be modifed to much. The oil pick up could be relocated with some careful brazing. What I did is pretty much all u can get away unless u want to do some major surgey. (major to me atleast). The baffle is staying(trim it maybe) and I just made the shallow part a little longer.

Honeslty I would even worry about widing the pan. B/C....Headers are needed in mine and more soo "hugger" headers that hug the block(in my case). Stock Oil filter location is right in the way. So I am going to buy an oil fliter relocation kit which has 2 filters and that right there adds almost an extra 2 quarts normally. So with this I will have atleast an extra quart of oil (in my case.)

Do you need custom header??? Most likley. The SHO heads are so damn wide...and TALL < my main problem still. lol. I hope the runners end up just poking through the hood.

Did U see if you have enough hood clearance in ur project?? The manifold really adds height and the addition of spacers to flip it did not help.

damn that looks pretty good. only thing is id be cutting as much as i can out of that engine bay before i started modding the motor to fit. that thing has lots of potential for a bigger bay.

whoever welded your pan has skills. just get them to cut and weld inside the bay?

That is all.

so uhhh.

whats all this?

Yea james is right. Damn rust. Engine had to come out anywho for this so if the SHO thing dont work out it not a big deal.

From left to right.

Two jack points, battery tray at the bottom, back is the bottom of both Q-panels. and on the right is left frame rail, and upper left frame rail w/reiforcement. and some new boots for the steering rack. overall I got damn lucky with the car. These things are known to litterly rust to peices
