I have an extra intake and VC's that I am going to have Powder Coated. I have read some of the prep threads but have not seen anyone who has had them bead blasted at a machine shop. I am going to grind the casting marks off anyways and having it blasted will remove the stock paint and clean the inside really nice. Has anyone done this and if so, did it turn out ok

I bead blasted mine, it worked great. I just wish I had bigger than a pancake 125psi and poor CFM air compressor to run it.

when you have it done, just make sure all the threaded pieces and studs are masked, along with the gasket faces and the mating surfaces for the couplers (vacuum leaks). I just ground down the bottoms of the brackets to ensure a good ground with a dremel.

Clean the insides first, then you dont have to worry about messing the paint up at all. Berrymans B-12 works great, Acetone, Brake Cleaner......:nut:

There's the plate on the front valve cover, I drilled out the rivits, cleaned, then reinstalled with new rivits. I wasn't going to have any beads left in there!
