I have a 95 SHO that I bought used. From the beginning, the power antenna mast never lowered but the motor for it would run anyway. I replaced the mast yesterday to find that the problem was that the toothed cable had snapped inside (pretty common from what I hear). I removed that and replaced the antenna fully, but a new issue has arisen. Once the antenna has fully retracted, when the vehicle has been shut off, the antenna motor is still running for a good 10-20 seconds. It seems to me like this would cause damage to the antenna, or is this normal and I should disregard it?

Sure enough, it was an issue. Started it up tonight and no antenna. It's not extending at all so I imagine the cable's probably snapped off inside the assembly.
