I'm assuming this would be okay, but where should I ship them to? And also can I have the heat shields power coated?

If you do powder coat, make sure to use the correct powder.

Jet Hot is great!

Ex manifolds 2

I have the same thing, but with 6 holes. :thumb:

If your going to have it done, dress out the manifolds with a Dremel. Casting slag and such. It makes it look really prrrretty.

Devin, I'm getting my subframe and knuckles pc'd at this moment, and the powder coater himself told me that it would not last, that best thing to do is have them jet-hot or ceramic coated.

$160 plus shipping is gonna suck though. Hopefully they don't charge to ship back...

Nonetheless, what is up with their statements about reducing the amount of heat going through the manifold. Does that hold any water (or heat in this case!)?

If you are talking about the JET HOT coating it is an insulating ceramic coating. It will improve flow and reduce the heat radiated by the manifolds.

Yeah, that is what I am talking about. I guess I should take a wire wheel to the manifolds and heat shields and find a flexible dealie for the the insides. There is no point in coating exhaust residue.

If you send them to Jet Hot they will lightly media blast the insides and out to get a good adhesion. If you want the roughness taken out for looks then you need to do this yourself.

Jet-Hot did a great job on my headers. The blasting and prep work are first rate and the finish is smooth. Many pictures of the headers at my car domain.

If you powder coat the manifolds, it must me a high temp powder. A company like Jet Hot is a MUCH better option, and looks good too.

NW: Oh! So they don't actually come out silver? Or did you get one of the other colors?

how thick is the jet coating? wouldnt that cause flow restriction at the mating surface between the exhaust ports and manifolds?

I had no restrictions or interference . The finish will polish to a chrome mirror finish if you want.
