Possibly the strangest SHO problem to date? EVER

Hey all my 93 has a really really strange problem that everybody i show to really doesn't have a damn clue as to what it could be.

This very alien occurrence happens in weird periods,won't happen for 2months then come back for week then go away..

The problem:As you can tell when you put your key into "On" mode before starting the car all your lights come on Check Engine etc etc...Well this is where it gets weird..

The Check Engine light in On mode becomes a light shade of orange INSTEAD of being BRIGHT yellow the car will NOT start unless i open the hood and slam it then the check engine light in On mode will become bright yellow and she starts no problem..i checked all my grounds and it's just WEIRD.

Maybe some of you have encounterd this problem?

60k was done she's now at 91k

There's a bad connection somewhere.

Just yesterday the same thing happened to me, except I had NO dash lights. Popped the hood, took a look around, slammed it shut, and it started right up on the next try.

check the connection to the ecu, and the ground.

I swear you must have that copied, and just paste it every time. It's probably the correct answer no doubt but I thought is was funny. I think I will get a placard made up with that instruction on it. Hahaha Good stuff. In fact that might be sig quote worthy. Again. What is the royalty payments again?

check that fuse near the coolant overflow thing.
i had bad wireing so it kept cutting off my fuel pump.. wiggle (slam the hood) it would turn on!
for some reason i can hear my fuel pump come on.. no idea if it's suppose to be that way.. but i usually hear a bump and a noise when it comes on, lol

maybe??
