Goal: completely get rid of stock amps, hook up new deck and wire an amp and sub to it.
I have a picture of the wiring harness I picked up from meijer that said ford taurus 1992, it has 2 large connectors and 2 weird ones, looks look it might be the wrong one???? Also I found 1 black connector inside the dash. I took a picture of all the wires that come out of my dash...am I missing one? I thought I read that you're supposed to find 2 extra connectors???? I am so so so confused, anyone who can clear this up for me, I will be so effing grateful!

My 1992 taurus sho has the jbl system with 1 subwoofer amp and 1 speaker amp, cassette player.

Also if that harness is the wrong one can someone explain to me what harness to get? Ive seen about 3 different harnesses people have used.

The two large connectors should connect to the 8pin (I think it's 8...the wide ones) connectors that are in your car.

Make sure you unplug the black amp in the rear of the car, unless you like blowing the fuses in the radio.

I hooked the black connector that i pulled from behind the dash up to the black connectr on my radio harness. and one of the grey connectors to the grey one on the radio harness...and i blew the radio fuse. I had the black amp hooked up still, i just disconnected both amps though

Yeah, that's why I told you to unplug the black one.

Should be working now, correct?

well, u can do it that way OR u can do it the way i did it. im running a jvc hd radio head unit, rca audio cable to my rockford fosgate 4 channel amp. ran new wires for the 4 new speakers (alpine front, kicker rear) to the amp. amp turn on cable to the head unit from the amp, and the power and ground from the amp. the old ford speaker wire doesnt carry sound as well as it did it say the year our cars were manufactured. it takes a bit of extra work, and some aggravation getting wires thru the door boots up front, but its well worth it. just me .02
