PBrake was sticking a few weeks back on the pass side. Got it unstuck and didn't use while waiting for the new caliper. It HAD to be the caliper since the cable is only like 2-3 yrs old. So I replaced it and it didn't work... It was the cable. Was sticking internally somehow even though it looked almost new. OK...new cable. Put that in tonight. Guess what? It won't fully retract on the pass side (driver side works great).
At the bracket where the pass cable connects to the rest of the system, the cable remains loose after you release and the spring/lever on the caliper is not back in the released position. Now I can pull it back to home by hand easily. So the cable is somehow hanging up or sticking...but it's brand f'in NEW! There is nothing else to replace. I disconnected the pass cable and am using only the drivers side now but I am really puzzled as to how this is possible. The cable seems to move fine by hand. The caliper spring/bracket moves fine. But set the brake and release it and it doesn't fully retract. Yes I've done this before. This is my 3rd cable in 15 yrs.
Any clues???
Thanks,
Dave
