So 27K miles 2014 SHO
Everything was find and dandy, my low speed fan was squeaking for some time, so I got replacement fan assembly and replaced just now, easy swap.
I had to remove intake box and unplug upped radiator hose, some of the coolant came out, maybe cup.
Everything got assembled back after I started the car I did not see that I had to add coolant, it was still on the line, so I took if for a drive, fans run nice, both of them bt now car overheats, like overheats at load, once I idle it cools down to normal operating temp, fans run.
Any ideas? maybe air pocket?

Probably air in the system. Its a little harder to burp this platform then just leaving the cap off and adding at idle. I had to get a coolant air bleed kit to do it correctly. Next time it shows it running hot, turn the heat on full blast and see if its actually hot.

There is a Makuloco vid about how to do it. Worked for my wife’s old escape. Same thing, did a hose and then was air locked and overheating. I forget the exact procedure but it’s something like hold it at 2200 RPM’s a bunch of times for maybe 30-40 seconds while the cap is off to finally get it to burp.

I did that 3 sets of 3 times just like he explains and nothing took it for a ride and it's climbing up to 230 before I had to just pull over and let it rest.

Crazy.

All I did is unplugged that hose and replaced the fans, that was it, what the heck.
I am thinking to maybe drain whole system and refill it again.

What a PITA. Isn't the reservior/overflow tank supposed to be for self burping the system?

I pulled the thermostat out and it looks great, it's the geared one and only 8K miles old.
I probably should boil it and see if it opens, right?

Correct. It could be stuck.

Though, I think all new T stats are "fail safe".

Nope. You've got a bit of a mystery here. And the fans Definately work? They kick on at idle once the car is warm?

Fans run full speed both of them as car gets to 190, blasting high.
Tomorrow I will pill thermostat out again, boil to see if it opens
then drain radiator and refill, how that fixes
Keep you updated

Would be a nice catch if I cut it earlier and not waisted my Saturday and part of Sunday dealing with it.

I sent nice e-mail to autocrats.com see what comes out of this.

Now my concern is this, when I cut my first overheat I don't know how far it went and how long I was in the hot zone and all that.
I did not really watch gauge that close when I was first driving, well for first 5 min temps was normal so I was just driving and driving hard.

I am kind of concern how far it got.

this is why fan was squeaking when running, screechy noise.
