well tomorrow is the day that i finally get my baby back in shape. i just bought the cps today, got the harmonic balancer, and i decided to pick up the A1 Cardone remanufactured water pump.....be proud SDPatt. I decided that I am in there to do the other stuff so might as well do it. I am also replacing my 3 cam seals. My final question is.....i was out driving today and i came back and held the throttle at about 1600 in my driveway. i noticed that it fluctuated between 1600-1700-1500. I also noticed that the idle fluctuates a little. now....i cleaned out my IAB about 5,000 miles ago, do u think that needs cleaning again? or do u think that it might be a tps? please help me out. I want to fix this now. Also.....my car has been sitting for about 2 days now and i went to start it and it didn't turn over at all, almost like a dead battery. I listened to the ringing noise from inside the car and it sounded like a dead noise almost. I turned on the headlights and they didn't come on. I turned them back off and turn the key and voila. it started right up. wtf?? does anyone know why this happened? i hope nothing major. grrr. please help.

Hey Greg, the idle could be a number of things. If you just did all that work, I would personally thik that it is is a vacuum leak, but it could be other things also. In addition, the battery problem is a bad connection somewhere or the beginnings of a bad starter. I would believe it to be the battery in your case. Clean up the posts with some water and baking soda and then put some felt pads below them. Good luck!

well my brother and i finally worked on my SHO today. We replaced the cps, water pump, and 3 cam seals. There was so much oil coming out of the cam seal with the cam sensor on it. I think that is where i was losing it all. It was also coming out of the other two but not as bad. We put it all back together, put new radiator fluid in, and did an oil changed and it fired right up. It's sooo nice to have my baby back. I then gave it a nice wash and cruised around town.

forgot to mention.......the water pump was actually bad. I was just going to replace it for the heck of it while i was in there and i realized that it truly was leaking. So that is why my cps failed. I'm glad i got the water pump because if i hadn't and it leaked again, i would have had to go right back in there and replace that damn cps again.
