I been doing some searching but I seem to not be able to get a good list of what I need/want.. I want to redo everything under the car and first thing I want to ordered are front end parts, liek tie-rods and such... everytime I search I see things like strut to frame bushings and things that I dunno what they are ( I am a Poncho guy at heart) so what all do I need? I plan on Koni and intrax for the sturt/spring combo ( I like it hard) and I do know I'll need strut bearings. But I hear you can get TPR for those now dunno prt numbers or anything though..

so bascially I want a part number list of what I'll need to buy bushing wise cause I want to have evrything ready when I do this ( pre assemble the struts and such)

thanks in advance! :D

What's the build date on your 90? www.shonutperformance.com
Click on the suspension link. It'll answer your Q's about strut mounts, spacers, and bearings.

Never heard of TPR bearings...

TPR rear sway bar to body bushings (fit 25 or 26 mm) (2) K8761 22.18
V6 TPR front tension strut to lower control arm bushings (2 packages) K8613 16.57
SHO NUT EXTREME Reinforced Front V6 MTX Mount SNP-ERFMM 165.00
SHO NUT EXTREME Reinforced Rear V6 MTX Mount SNP-ERRMM 140.00

Go with the Tokico/Eibach strut/spring setup...
Tie rod ends and they like can be had at local auto parts stores for TRW ones that are greaseable.

Cool thanks

the build date is TBD but pretty much ASAP...I am ordering parts every 2 weeksin 300-400 dollar intervals heh

now the mounts you listed are the trannymounts I am guessing?

Also why do you say go with tokico and eibach? I thought they were not as good as going with koni/intrax?

The mounts listed are the front and rear motor mounts. The stock mounts aren't too tough, definately not enough to last a lifetime with the torque output of the SHO motor. There is also a tranny mount available on SHONut, but not reinforced. Those reinforced mounts are great.. very sturdy. There's some information there if you click the links in the listing, or heck, right here is fine too :p Can't remember offhand where to get the production date... open the driver side door and check there?

As far as the strut / spring combinations go, check around, read some posts. A lot of people are completely sold on konis / eibachs, but everyone's going to have an oppinion, and they have their own tasts wink Do whatever you think's gonna be best for you thumb

Good luck with the suspension! burnout

Good thing about the konis, you can change the ride if you don't like it. You will love the car either way you go.

I'm not knocking the Koni/Intrax setup as I have personally never driven or riden in a SHO with them. It's just that I so love the Tokico/Eibach setup so that's what I would always suggest installing. They will definitely give you a nice stiff and responsive car. And if you are upgrading the suspension I would highly suggest contacting netviper on this forum and purchase a set of aluminum subframe bushings! You can see his feedback under the vendor feedback section of the forum. He's a great person to buy from with quick service and an excellent product. If you don't already have the aluminum SFB's you'll be amazed at the difference those alone will make to your steering response and handling.

The tension strut should be the rod that connects the body to the spindle. They are on both the front and the rear. You'll see a large nut on the front of the tension strut. The rod goes through the body and another nut at the bottom backside of the spindle. There are bushings on both ends that probably need to be replaced.

Yeah the tension strut goes through the subframe not the body and also goes through the lower control arm. www.shonutperformance.com sells tension strut bushings which actually replace the ones that come in a new lower control arm. The lower control arm slides onto the tension strut and there is a washer and nut on the other side which holds it in.

Hmm I think I am having brain issues or something.. cause I cannot seem to picture in my mind where everything goes.. IMO SHOnut is great for prices and stuff.. but not so good if you don't know all the specific names for things.. I HAD a helms book but it got destroyed :( so i cannot look it all up on my own.. I am sure there is more than just the tnesion strut and ball joints/tie rods...

also I hear you need a special tool to do the inner tierods? would I be better off buying a new rack? lol

Most auto part stores will "rent" you the tool required to remove and replace the inner tie rod. IIRC, Autozone charged a $30 deposit for the tool when I used it last year. No, you are not better off to replace the whole rack unless there is a further need for that!
