Ok so I have a bad subframe....

Today I had a mechanic tell me the subframe on my '93 ATX is bent, needs replacing. I know I could replace the subframe....but...since my SHO needs alot of bodywork....could I drop the SHO drivetrain into a SLO? Is it too much of a hassle? Has anyone done this? and detailed the procedure?

I have herd of this being done, making a SHO out of a wagon, but not sure how it would be without all the SHO handling. The sud frame is not hard to change, I had mine out when I put in the new clutch on my 93 MTX. I know there is a 94 ATX SHO over here in Prineville at the local yard, the hood and bumper are gone, hoods on my car, but the drive train and frame are still there. It might be ez er the replace the frame. Just my $.02 worth.

I think you are right. I'm going to head out this afternoon to look around at a local wrecking yard. I know of a black 93-ish ATX in a Portland yard.

You will still need the subframe. To install a SHO drivetrain in a SLO you basically need everything forward of the A-pillar from a SHO and put it all in a SLO. Cheaper to buy a new SHO.
