Took apart the oil pump from the 3.2 I bought because it would not rotate freely. Probably some gunk but everything is working fine now but this concerns reassembling it. There are two rotors and each one has two dots on them. The bigger rotor has dots that face to the outside (looking from the back of the pump) while the inner rotor's dots face to the inside. Do these dots need to align in anyway?

Sorry for posting this here. Should be in the maintenance section.

All the pumps that I have taken apart have the dot's facing outward, or towards the engine. The dot's are there to help you align the two rotors. They are not really needed. Depending on where the engine is in it's rotation, you will have to rotate the oil pump inner geat to mate with the front of the crankshaft.
