Oil pressure sending unit leak

I have a significant oil leak coming from the oil pressure sending unit. How difficult is this to correct? I assume I need to replace the unit. Hard to do? Special tools? Any other parts needed? Thanks.

On an MTX it`s simple,and an ATX is more difficult only because of access to it.No special tools.Old one out,new one in.

Umm... on an ATX it's easy too, just need to spend $5 on the right tool. Lisle makes a "1" and 1 1/16" Oil Pressure Sender socket" which fits on a 3/8" socket wrench.

The method of removing the oil pressure sender is from the top and the MTX removal is from the bottom.

I don't know about the ATXs, but on a MTX you have to come up from the bottom, and you have to reach around an axle shaft to get to it. It's an awkward angle, but a pair of Vise-Grips definitely helps. The Y-pipe doesn't help things, but it's not worth the time to take it off, as you really don't get any more useful space to work with. Of course, the coat of oil under there will have you muttering words you thought you didn't know.
