The fact that it only happens when it warms up makes me think that it really is oil pressure, but how can I verify that?

This light is controlled by the single wire unit in the pan?

The pan sensor is for oil level in your crank case. It is there to tell you to add a quart or two.

One thing to remember is low rpm has an affect on oil pressure, but it also has an effect on your alternator. The light seems to be on when your electrical system is experiencing battery voltage only, the alternator is not working its magic.

It is still a mystery as neither oil pressure or voltage should turn that light on.

You have to take a looks at the wire as well.

That isn't the oil pressure light? I thought that was the red light of death.

I would change the sender. It is on the back side of the block toward the flywheel.

Plastigauge your mains ? Or you could install a real oil pressure gauge to get a read on the situation.

Oil Pressure (Hot, Idling) ... Min. 12.8 PSI
