I am having a oil burning problem, I believe it started after I noticed the valve seals were roasted and the cats turned red hot. It doesnt smoke at all during start up, just on decelaration and goosing it. I believe I cooked the oil on the rings in No. 1 piston. I've used sea foam through the vacuum, currently have Auto rx in the oil and a full cleaning of the Tb by taking it all apart. I have not yet to put tranny fluid in the oil as a try. What ELSE can I do to to free those rings without taking the motor apart? Please help a desparate man!

^^Same here I tried AFT but no difference as well. I even tried pouring it down the cylinders through the spark plug holes! I'm on the hunt for a 3.2 to start building!

Try pulling that plug, and shoot a whole can of brake parts cleaner in it..
(not all at once). Spray, crank, spray, crank, etc..
If anything will free it up, this will.

No I don't have an oil light on or anything.......... I'll try the brake parts cleaner. Is there a way to pull the pistons from the bottom AND reinstall them without taking out the crank?

BG, GM and other have actually carbon dissolvers. I'd pour a bunch in that cyl and let it sit for a long time. Change oil and fire it back up.

your cats got hot??

if they did they are probaly breaking down,if your car has a egr pipe like later atx cars it sucks the junk up from the cats n ruins your engine,it will look like beach sand, all my cars r 91 or older hence no line from cats to intake

How can the engine suck things up from the cats??!! Seriously......? Even when you let off of the throttle, there is still exhaust being forced out. Impossible......

its killed a many of motors

ya ever notice that little egr pad on front of the intake by the throttle body? some sho actually have a active egr sytem that draws a vacuum through a tube that attaches to the cat,and what happens when a cat deteriotes it crumbles in to a sand like powder,n yes there is enough vacuum in the system to draw into the intake. do a search onsite here for more examples or ask the dude over in pa sho ,i believe he said he,s rebuilt a few motors cause of it

That is called reversion and yes it is very much possible. Air moves both ways in the intake and exhaust tract and combatting this is why you have to "tune" intakes and exhuast system to make more power.
