O/D light comes on at cold engine start up

I replaced the battery in my 95 3.2 auto, and now the O/D instrument panel light comes on at cold engine start up. Pressing the button on the gearshift will toggle the light on/off.

The O/D light does not come on when the engine is started hot. Any ideas how to change the cold default condition back to off before I see a tech?

Car seems to run fine.
