Just recently my car developed a weird scratching noise comming from my front left wheel area and it is very annoying and I want to eliminate the noise. The noise only can be heard when my car is moving and it gets really scratchy/loud when comming to a stop and the sounds is sparatic. I am thinking maybe it could be a wheel bearing or something? But I am really not sure so if anyone could tell me what they think it might be and how I could fix it I would appreciate it because I want my SHO it tip-top shape since it is getting painted black in two days.

My guess would be brakes (pads worn, sticking slider pin, rock caught in the pad, etc).

It could be a bearing also (shake the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock to check the bearing).

With more information, I could refine my guesses
