I offer my prayers to the gods of the SHO in the hopes that they might take pity on my plight and offer advice:hail:

Heres the story. I acquired a 93 auto SHO basketcase through a trade. The car was running the day before, with a misfire, that i attributed to needing a tuneup and valvecover seals (plug tubes were totally filled with oil.)

I DID NOT check for spark presence at this time, i assumed it was there. (oops). Replaced the gaskets, plugs and wires. I don't think they had ever been changed, most of the plugs that came out had been worn open all the way to 0.080!

I put everything back together and cranked it up. Wouldnt start. I jumped the fuel pump from the test terminal and pressure was good, checked spark and had none. Thinking I must have left a connector unplugged i pulled the intake again and checked everything out. 99% sure I didn't miss any plugs or hook anything up wrong. I did find one unconnected pig tail in the rear lpassenger side of the bay, near the EEC-IV and ABS test plugs. I don't think it is supposed to be plugged into anything, but im not positive. Ill take a picture if anyone suspects this.

Did the KOEO test and got the following codes:
116- Coolant temp sensor out of self test range
636- trans fluid temp higher or lower than expected
542- fuel pump circuit open; PCM to motor.

No idea if those were present before i did the valve cover gaskets. From the combination it seems to me like a loose connector or ground, but its been a while since i worked on much EEC-IV.

Can anyone offer some advice on what to do next? Ill be searching old topics but i figured id get it asked so maybe someone can see it and advise. Thanks.

Sounds like the Crank Position Sensor is out (last time I didn't have a spark that was my problem) but with those codes?

Nah no code 211. Did a lot searching and found that a poor ground on the tube the module sits on can cause the no spark. I set the car in run and connected my test light to the negative bat terminal and probed the intake, and sure enough that section had a tiny bit of voltage. Ran another ground wire and my SHO is flying again! Still needs some TLC but at least shes driving. Great forum guys, would have taken me forever to figure this out without all the resources, wish i could have been able to search asap, never would have needed a topic.

I bow to the Mighty SHO gods, who have answered my prayers!:hail:

I just had similar problems with my 93, try the 10amp fuse under the hood for the ignition coil. Mine was blown and it solved all my problems...
