No Sound, No Harm??

Ok SHO gurus, I need some advice here. The Batmobile (my 90 SHO for those of you who don't know), started having a slight 'clack' the other day. Its the rod bearings. You can BARELY hear them at idle (unless your listening for it) otherwise they make noise 'sometimes' above 4k, doesn't seem to be all the time.

My question is...if you can't hear them, are they causing damage or not?? For now I've decided to park it til she's fixed. I've also got a soft pedal too...redid the whole front brake system today, and then the backs when I get money.....

Yes they are definetly still doing damage. Don't drive it. I can't stand to see another SHO go down this way. frown

Don't want to discourage you but you may have already done alot of damage. No way to find out tell ya tear into it. So definitely don't drive or even start it.

Ok, I drove mine for about a week and a half with a SLIGHT tic above 4k.. and then it ******* out.. so DO NOT DRIVE IT.. its started clicking noticeably louder about 1 minute before she died...

I doubt I have done any damage.

I had this same problem only worse with my 93 ATX. It started knocking, only more noticeable. I threw 50w oil in it and drove it for a week. Granted the car hated the oil, yet I still managed. I only had to drive about a mile to work and back.

So I know its not that bad.........
