ok i got under the car and took some better pictures, the ones os of the boot through the wheel well and the other is from under the car towards the boot. The twisted boot is all the way on the left side of the pic cant really see it though. I also have another completly off topic question but, what is that white brace ill call it that is in the pic. I though it was a traction bar at first but it says for service parts on it, I just though it was something special since it was white and look light weight or soemthing haha.

That's you steering rack. The boot you are talking about in the pictureis the inner tie rod/rack boot. If it is leaking from there you need a new rack.

The "white brace" is the front swaybar endlink. same as the rear endlinks ony for the front.

is that just a stock endlink or something special? Also it looks lie kit is the steering rack then but im not 100% sure its leaking from there about 99.9% haha. If i take the boot off is there something i can look for that would be broken right there so i would know that that is what is leaking?

The "white brace" is a stock end link for late GenIIs. Nothing special about it, really.

It looks to me like there's a hose on your steering rack that is completely shredded. If that's the return line for your power steering it would completely explain your leaking fluid. It would also mean a fairly inexpensive repair compared to a new steering rack or a transmission.

ummm WOW I didnt even notice that, im going to have to look at that. That would be such a blessing to help my bad luck, to just repalce a hose. All i have to say is holy crap! that hose does look completly destroyed and i cant believe thats the case. this was a slow leak unless it blew all over the road and then just leaked in my driveway slowly w/e was left. Im going to pray tonight and go take a look tomorrow.

Do the following:

There are two hoses connected to the p/s fluid reservoir. One goes to the p/s pump one one is the low-pressure return line from the cooler. A second hose connected to the pump is the high-pressure line and that line goes down to the rack. Give that line a tug and see what you get. If one of the lines blew, it is most likely to be the high-pressure line from the pump to the rack.

Alternately, you could also have a quick look in the reservior to see if there's any fluid left in it. If there's not you know to go hunting for the source of the leak and you already have a good idea on where to start the search. :)

already checked my ps fluid its full, and the fluid that leaked was amber colored the color of the brand new syncromesh i put in. I had a/t fluid in my ps and the syncromesh in my tranny, would the syncromesh be leakign from the steering rack becasue im still trying to figure out how the tranny fluid gets into the steering rack unless it doesnt and im confused:rofl: Poser steering? what is that and that uses an amber colored fluid?

ok I just took the boot off the steering rack and heres a pic of it nothing looks broken but I guess it could be a seal or something. I also looked at the hose it was just tape not a blown hose. Good new is im an idiot. I took my fill plug out of my trans to check the fluid level and bunch of fluid started pouring out, so it was full for sure. I guess it was power steering fluid but I swear it was amber colored. I think im going to take the car for a drive up my road and then see if it wil lstart leaking again. Im worried becasue im thinking it might be oil thats the only thing I havent checked yet and liek i said it was brand new nic clean oil. I know my car leaked/burned 4 qts every 2-3k miles so I know the seals were kinda going bad. Also another off topic question what is this box connected to the trans, and whats it do?

ok seems liek im talkign to myself here but im going to post one more time:rofl: I foudn a metal line that connects into the boot on the steering rack, the boot that was all twisted up. If that boot twisted and the line got pulled out would that line going into that boot leak? The boot right below the line is covered in fluid and everything below that spot is and thats were is was leakign from so mayeb it was jsut a line that got pulled out, what is that line for?

That line just allows air to move between the left and right boots as the steering goes back and forth. If you follow it it just goes to the other boot.

ahh ok, I took the car for a ride today finally, and its still leaking but im confused as anything. The original fluid was a amber color and was a big puddle this fluid is a dark color and smalles like p/s fluid and only a few drops came out after i got back to my house, say maybe 20. I have to check the lines tomorrow and see if theyt are loose im hoping thats waht it is. What concers me is that original puddle because it was big and now nothign leaks, it makes m think something blew up or all the fluid is missing from somewhere.
