I sold him a part 3 weeks ago,but never recieved any payment or e mails,but i do see he took the time to list his shipping info in the checkout.As if i`m going to fall for that,luckily,the itam was sold to a forum member.Here`s his info,stay clear!!

No offense, but personal information like that should not be shared with the forum. Even if the customer did rip you off or do you wrong, this could turn into a legal issue really quick when posting his personal information (his address) to a forum like that.

This incident can be seen by others of how you handle problems and could posiibly affect future business/customer relations on private information.

I would recommend keeping the forum seperate from business issues, just IMHO.

The information is listed on a public site for anyone to find.I`ll remove a small portion of it,but i feel the majority needs to be left for others to know to not do buisiness with him.I feel i was invaded personally due to myself having to list the item and pay E bAy fees with no payment from the winning bidder.It cost me money,and i got nothing in return.

I agree with Tom. All the info anyone here needs is his eBay name and we will know to stay away from him. He didn't exactly rip you off. he just didn't pay.

FWIW, Jeremy, you can leave him negative feedback, and after that is done, eBay will refund your fees to you. In addition to this, they will give him a non-paying bidder warning. 3 of those and he earns himself a one way ticket out of eBay land.

A lot of people try to take advantage of you through the mail. I sold a perfectly good sho cd player to a guy a while back. He was extremely nice on the phone and seemed a responsible business man. I made the mistake of accepting cod for payment. It took weeks for me to get the check from the USPS and by that time I had already received a call from him telling me that the player didn't work and that he thought I was ripping him off. He babbled on about how I was lieing to him about not taking the player out before I wrecked my car and that's probably what killed it. Maybe it was damaged in shipping, but I bubble wrapped the **** out of it. I removed it from my car in working order due to installing aftermarket Alpine equipment. He was atleast nice enough to send me a check for my shipping so I didn't lose money on that. I was still mad. I sold the player for $150 and had a lot of offers for it. I guess I picked the wrong guy. He couldn't even put it in himself. A ford shop technician did the work frown

The guy does not have any negative feedback in his profile. I don't know what the circumstances are surrounding this eBay sale, but I know that Jeremy is only trying to save others here on the forum headaches with this guy.

While the listing of the guys address may have been too much information, it was with the best of intentions on JT's part, like I said before, to warn others and save them some headaches.

While this post would be better placed in Open forum - Non-SHO related, I'm leaving it here as this forum does not get as much attention. I think it is in the best interest of the forum to leave it here.

When using eBay people, use the honor system. If you bid, then pay. And remember that communication is the key in life to most everything. Sometimes things happen that would make it impossible for the bidder to pay. If the guy would have emailed JT I'm sure that JT would have been more than receptive to working out something with him. Even if it was nothing more than the guy paying the seller's fees on eBay. Then at least JT would know what was going on.

JT sells SHO parts and services. So do the people on this forum buy and sell SHO parts and services. He is warning other SHO people that are buying and selling SHO stuff to keep a eye out for this Bozo. It may not be spelled out in this post, but regulars know JT and that he deals in SHO parts and services. So that's the "E-Bay crap" connection comes into a "SHO" connection.

In my ebay auctions I stress good communication and let the bidder know that I will contact them every step of the way. I also ONLY accept money order or paypal, and I will ONLY ship UPS ground. UPS has never lost an item and they include online tracking and full insurance on each item. That way if the bidder claims an item doesn't work or has damage that wasn't specified then it's out of my hands. I will no longer ship without some kind of tracking or insurance simply because there are a lot of people out there who will try to take advantage of you...it's happened to me in the past and saving a couple bucks on shipping just isn't worth it. And "questionable" bidders are less likely to try and pull one over on UPS then they are on me. The serious bidders don't mind the extra $$$ because they know I'm serious about my items.

As for deadbeat bidders; I had a rash of sales with deadbeat bidders, then I changed my auction descriptions to read as follows: "I actively pursue non-paying bidders through all available ebay channels as well as the bidders own ISP."

Since changing my auction descriptions I've had FAR less deadbeat bidders so either Ebay has cracked down more or my description encourages people to pay shrug
