So some of ya replied to the thread as requested and most didnt...

I gather that we need a +38MM offset with an 8" wide wheel...CORRECT??

With said wheel at those specs how much room do we have to play with inside the wheel well and with the fenders assuming we are running a stock or close to stock height tire??

OR....Give me any spec wheel on a specific gen car and tell me what the exact clearances are inside and out...

Where are the biggest differances among the early and late generations?? Control arms???

Really until all the outlined questions in the initial post are covered we can't move toward styles etc...

In regards to a Slicer??? I am assuming this is a stock SHO wheel style?? This is probably not going to happen. To make a new cast you have to order a staggering amount of wheels in ONE size ONE spec and ONE finish of over 400+ wheels...I somehow doubt this is going to be achievable. BUT with an existing cast "Mustang Replica" we can adjust the offset and change the bolt pattern. However the hub bore will be 70.80MM, correctable with Hubcentric rings. There is nothing wrong with running rings.

Also...I have to admit that I thought this thread would be getting alot more participation than what it has up to this point.

Thanks for your thoughts and participation...

I second that, in silver.
merchant.mvc

As long as that shipping weight of 32lbs isn't correct.
Only $105 for the mustang, how much would they be recast for our cars?

I love most mustang rims...Cobra R's, 03/04 Cobra rims any 99+ cobra rim for that matter...And my absolute favorite:

Those wheels are simply the best looking rims a guy could buy!

Also...I think a 17x7 OR 7.5 would be good...I have a set of 16x7.5s and they stick out...Looks **** to me

As for offset...Ive been told 45mm was good for 7" wide rims IIRC

Silver unpainted wheels....Chrome or machined finish, maybe even painted...Depends on how it looks...

Hubcentric rings are not bad whatsoever if made of a quality material...Cheap ones break, I see it frequently at work..

All I can say is, Get a nice looking Re-casted rim, Let us know a price, and I will save for a set if I like the design

That's the way things usually go... :nut:

That's about right. However, there may be slight fender trimming necessary in the rear. Taurii have narrow wheel wells, so that's just part of the game.

Not a whole lot. See above.

Biggest difference is in the rear fender clearance. Gen I wheel wells don't have quite as much room on the outside. The spring perch may be slightly different on some years, but I'm not sure. Also, I think 89s have a slightly different rear hub offset, but its not much.

Dead project? :salute:

Not by a long shot. When the time comes to proceed further to the next step I will append to this thread.

However I don't really see that much interest either...It costs me nothing but my time to explore options and possabilities though. I am going to come up with a few options and return with them.
