I have a 2nd gen and am really familiar with the 2nd gen but my dad is looking at a 3rd gen 96 to be exact. They are asking like 2700 for it and it has a rabuilt title. It was a front end crash and the frame wasn't harmed. So what I would like to know is what should we look for and is there anything that we should really worry about? I have heard something about head problems on the 3rd gens what is that all about. THIS IS ONLY A SECONDARY CAR--- is it worth 2700? shrug

Without know how many miles are on the 3rd Gen SHO or without knowing what needs to be replaced in the front end, it's hard to determine what it's going to cost your Dad to fix it.

If it were me, I'd keep your eyes open for one on ebay. I've seen them on there (without a rebuilt title) for around $4000.00.

Figure on spending $800.00 to get the cams welded. Then start saving at least $2500.00 for a transmission rebuild. They usually go around 90,000 to 120,000 mile mark.

The first upgrade to get for the 3rd Gen SHO is a 26mm Rear Sway Bar. It is a cheap, incredible improvement!!!!
