It's like a modern day police grill. Very nice!

Kirk said the same thing the other night when we tore it down. I'd have to agree!

The more I look at this, I agree with Ryan 110%. It makes it unique, and that's something Ford should have done from the factory, to set the SHO apart.

We told the designer dude at the meeting at the Dallas Auto Show last spring that all the chrome needed to go. He said that was the first thing he was going to do to his. Black out all the chrome and put SLO tail lights in it(no chrome surrounds). He said he tried for that to start with, but was out voted.

Really? Earl told us that he added the chrome for us? Also the tail light thing was brought forward by me in Chicago when they had two (SHO and SLO) sitting side by side at the plant and I was measureing the lights up. He came over to who was with me and asked what we were doing.. I told him and he rolled his eyes and started laughing.. said you guys are crazy! the car is not even being made yet and your already tearing it apart.

SHODWN,

How do you remove the chrome side vents from the front fenders? Can they come off from the front? or do they have some type of hardware on the back side that needs to be removed first?
Thanks

Excellent work, Kirk. Like I said to Earl at the Chicago unveiling, "Leave the chrome at home"! They definately need to market a SHO specific color/accent scheme.

Sounds like Earl may have been playing both sides of the aisle. My comment was that it had way too much chrome, and that I hated the chrome around the tail lights. that is when he commented that his black one was on order and the first thing he would do is have the chrome painted body color(black) and swap in the SLO tails to get rid of that chrome. Interesting that he got that idea from Chicago...

Looks awesome Kirk; so will you be giving the new grill the gravel truck paint durability test, as in the commercial ?

It actually makes the car look quite alot smaller from the front, it's a huuuge improvement over stock. I can't help but wonder which would look better on the chrome around the windows, body color or black. Body color might make it chunkier looking but the black might make the car look bigger
