Hi.. I just got a 91 from Anthony in Wisconsin. He used the car in autocross events a few years ago. The car was from another owner who had track cars. This car is a 91 with a gen 3 subframe, solid adjustable rear control arms, Baer front calipers with stainless lines. Cat delete wye pipe and straight pipes. It does run.... lots of white smoke. Probably rings. The dif pin is nonexistent.... so no driving untill a different mtx is installed. Black on black. The whole car needs some love. But I think it can be saved. I'm West of Chicago. This platform has so much information to share. I think it will be a fun project. Thanks in advance for all my future questions... Pops

Welcome in.

Does the car seem to run OK? Does it miss at all? Check the oil and coolant. These cars are not known for blowing head gaskets. If it sat for a while after blowing the diff then there might be some condensation in the intake that needs to work it's way out.

I'll let it run a while this weekend... it's one of many projects I have. I'm only 23 years into working on my house so i do have a lot of irons in the fire. The fuel pump was changed and the metal was only sealed with duct tape so that's where the mice got in. Looks like they only left a mess no chewed wires yet.

Welcome and really cool to see Tony's car (oddly so) come right back to the same area it once originated from. I remember the famous BBQ's at Tony's place. So much fun. I can't believe I myself survived them. Tony was a stellar man, yet alone an even more stellar SHO owner.

Dynomite!

Anyhow, not that I am well versed in the GEN1 variant, but you sir are correct in saying there is a ton of info here, and I'll add to that, many very knowledgeable, well versed fellow SHO owners that are eager to help.

Partly why I myself joined the SHO craze when I purchased my 2010 GEN4 model.

Lastly, what parts of "West of Chicago" do you call home?

I am out in the Manhattan area.

Welcome! Nice to see that car is still being appreciated!

Consider joining us for our yearly SHO Convention in Indy this July! Quite a few of us are local (Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, etc.) that will be attending. We kick it off with a track day (or two) at Putnam Park Road Course and later a private track day at a drag strip, plus fun events throughout the week!

I'm in Oswego by the fox river. I got most of the interior out of the car and found a little mouse friend above the headliner in a mummified state. He climbed the rear window pillar.. chewed threw the rubber over the holes and made a home by the visor. Luckly he didn't get into the dash board area.
