Good evening everyone. I joined to learn more about mods and maintenance on the SHO Ecoboost platform. I just bought a ratty 2013 FPIS with the 3.5 Ecoboost that’s got 130000 on it. So far my list of to do’s are:
1. Engine and transmission mounts, I’ve already ordered some from Tony.
2. Lower control arms with bushings and ball joints.
3. Oil in the intake from the rear turbo. So I’ll probably be replacing both.
4. There’s a faint growl that I have a feeling is the PTU. Sounds almost like a wheel bearing going out. I haven’t checked the fluid level yet since I’ve only driven it about 5 miles. I figure it’ll be easier if I’ll drop the engine then knock out the timing chains, water pump, turbos and change out the PTU all at the same time.
