These numbers were much slower than Car & Driver review. Besides that, there is something goofy going on with the Motor Trend review.

They said that mashing the gas from a standstill would overwhelm the tires. That is BS. I have test driven these cars. They barely chirp the tires from a standstill. Either something was wrong with the AWD system or they tested it on a wet track.

They always test these cars with every option. The fact is that you can get a nicely equipped MKZ with the 400 HP engine, AWD, moonroof, Nav, etc with a sticker in the mid 40s. They can be purchased for invoice or thereabouts - lower 40s. Pretty nice sleeper for the money, actually.

Great motor from Dearborn, ! a cruiser but not a drivers car, overweight chassis, excess body roll and unpredictable oversteer when pushed....... then tested with upgraded rubber, it bounced around like on basketballs. Dearborn really could take some lessons from GM regarding chassis, i.e ride, handling, steering.

You obviously read the Car & Driver review. How long was your own test drive and where did you test it. Did you try one both with the summer tires and without? What kind of acceleration numbers did you get when you tested it? This car competes with the Lexus ES and Buick LaCrosse, among others. What was the result when you ran back to back comparisons with those to compare handling prowess and performance?

Neighbor is intending on trading in his 2015 MKz, getting into the 2017 3.0T and having a 'get-together' at our local track.

I nodded my head and told him that I would be waiting.

LOL. I hope he doesn't mind the view of Taurus tail lights. Although, by the end of the quarter, the view will be pretty far away. Of course, both SCT and Livernois will eventually have tunes for the 3.0. Then, things might turn out differently.

My 2016 is stock currently, but I'm sure that will change over the winter.

Also, my former 2011 is in my driveway almost as often as well. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend wouldn't mind handing him a loss or two, if he so desires.

Big words, not at all as he is one that refuses to modify a vehicle in any way, shape or form. Right down to the fact he is completely against even a drop in air filter, or to use any type of lubricant that isn't oem material.

Like my interaction with a new Fusion Sport owner, it's very doubtful either will replace the SHO any time soon.

Gimpy, I thought your 2016 was tuned. If you meet up with your neighbor at the track and intend to hand him a loss, you better take your girlfriend's car or get yours tuned first. :)

Nothing to it yet.

Track season is about to its end here, I think this weekend is the last test/tune night. I could be wrong though...
