Greetings Everyone,
Found a diamond in the rough. A trade-in at the Ford dealership I work at. Was going to the whole saler, I couldn't pass it up for the price.
121,000 miles
My first concern...cam sprockets. I have no history on this car. Only noise is a chirp from the serpintine belt. Its a project for now, something to work on while waiting for work during slow times. Flat rate sux.

Anyone from the Virginia Beach, Va area? Know a cam sprocket welder in this area?
Thanks,

Contact the Forum member "SHO U UP".

He is VERY knowledgeable when it comes to SHO's. Has a Supercharged Gen III and a new 2010. He can help you I'm sure.

Also, Check out the Tidewater SHO Club section (On the very bottom of the very forum index) for events in your area.

Bought it back in 1980, my 1st car. I was 15. $400. It's as old as me! 289 with 351W 4v heads, 4 speed toploader, 3.89 traction lock. White with red interior. 69 mach 1 bucket seats. In work on interior and body refresh. I drive it maybe once a month if I'm lucky. Its a blast from the past.

Does it have the fiberglass hood with the rectangular air intakes on the leading edge? These are very underrated cars and are just now getting some attention.

Good call! I had 64 & 65 Comet Calientes, but I never had the slick hood. Good luck with your 99. I understand they are far superior to the Gen 1 and Gen 2 that I am familiar with, but the space-ship styling was difficult for me to warm up to. Maybe someday.
