Just saying thanks for letting me in the group. I just bought a 2013 pp sho with 40k miles. Looking to eventually have it beating a hellcat...lol I know long ways to go. But I'm shooting for the stars and i might hit the moon. I will be looking to tune and smaller mods once i figure out the warranty with tune issue.

Congrats on the purchase! Let me know if you need any input on parts or tuning, we can get pretty much every aftermarket component for the Taurus SHO, and our tuning and customer service is second to none. Hoping to expand our reach from Facebook to the forums to begin gaining market share, so let me know if we can help!

So my thing in tuning is I daily drive. I rode cbr 600s for awhile and with me paying on this car I want to enjoy the drive. (I love it stock but we all know it doesnt last) so I would be worried more on long term tuning for upgrade mods later and I want to be able to read my data on my tune changes... I think livewire x4 allows that. I have looked at unleash and livernois as those are the 2 I found reputable (not that they are the only 2 just only had car a month) so I will do my homework and ask a few more questions. But I wanna do a good bit in the long run. Just waiting on some things to happen first before I drop 4k in mods.

Stay away from LMS. Personally I would run AJPTURBO or Gearhead as they are tried and true.

I hear ya. Yes the X4 and the Livewire TS+ (two separate handheld models) will do the data logging and recording that you desire. As for tuners, I'd recommend talking to each that are active on here and other avenues and find the one that best suits your needs. We all have different tuning styles and you want the one that will best serve you as the customer.

I have found this one so far. I wanna be able to buy software to look into my own if I want. So I can see what changes and all. So if I get detailed later I can pull it up on my laptop.

that's the SCT GTX, it's a little buggy and support is very hit and miss on the SHO.

You may be better suited for HPTuners if you want to tune your own car. Anyone can download SCT LiveLink Gen II to be able to view their datalogs, but if you are looking to tune yourself SCT is pretty user limited until you take training courses to open up advanced features to keep you from getting yourself in trouble.

I will have to look into them then. I just want it to be an available option down the road. I dont wanna switch tuners because I wanna do more later. I dont do any of it now but I dont wanna be limited with that not an option.

Personally let someone else tune your car on the platform you wish to use. You can always down the road do your own tuning. Numerous tuners have done great things on this platform.

LMS was the go to. However, they have dropped the ball on our platform over the past year.

AJPTURBO, Gearhead, Unleashed, Ortiz have taken the SCT platform and done some great things. It is all in what you want from your tune.

I have a max effort E30 tune from Brad at AJP. My car is full bolt ons, and it is pretty wild for a land yacht. However, I want it on the edge. AJP also tuned my Focus ST for Flex Fuel and it is probably the most fun car I have ever driven.

Matt at Gearhead has really spearheaded parts and upgrades. He offers the only upgraded intercooler for our platform. He also offers upgraded turbos, converter, and has a upgraded PTU in the works. Along with what I have mentioned he is the only company to offer a Auto Octane tune for our platform.

I do not have a opinion on Luis at Ortiz or Torrie from Unleashed. They both seem to be good, but I have never dealt with what they have to offer personally.

Research all tuners. Take a look at my thread I posted. I have documented everything I have done with my car including dyno numbers after each upgrade. I still need to throw my car on the dyno because I now have Downpipes and my max effort tune. I dont calculate my numbers with virtual dynos ect. I want to know what my car is doing at the tires and they usually match with the math at the track.

I can agree with this. Would love to get the opportunity to work with you sometime @SM105K
