I picked up a 1998 sho it has a misfire and check engine light is on.I have a scan gauge and there where 8 codes when I bought it.1 was saying it was low trans fluid and another was smog pump oil, antifreeze and trans was all changed and full. I cleared codes and drove car home about 40 miles drove fine but had a noticeable mis at idle and when reving( not high rev) I just went out and checked codes again and said it had 3 stored codes P1413,P0000,P0000. It has 132,000 on odometer 3.4 engine. Can anybody help? maybe its coils or bad plug? where can I buy them They are $132.00 a piece anybody know any cheaper price? mabye a way to test? What other routine maintenance do I need to do to keep it alive for a long time?
Im going to use mobil 1 full syn I used in my other 98 tauras se since new, no probs now its 148,000 with ngk plugs can I do same in 3.4 engine.
And looking for a good place to weld my cams anybody know a good place in chicago IL.

1413 is the SAI pump. Usually the relay goes bad. It does not affect perfromance and is only used when the car is first started.

The other are bogus codes. And there are no codes for low trans fluid. P1000 is the OBDII drive cycle has not been completed since the codes were last cleared by disconnecting the battery.

Get a hold of Eric Lehmann for the cam welds in Chicago.

P0000 does not exist.

cheapest place for coils is autozone online. $80 for the duralast ones. as far as you needing them it kinda sounds like it but its not throughing the codes for them. if your board you can start the car and pull one of the front plugs at a time to see if the car runs the same or worse. runs the same means bad coil.

I second the motion for unplugging a coil. If the car has an intermittent miss that just won't throw a code, sometimes unplugging a SECOND coil - NOT the one that is misbehaving - will get the computer to throw BOTH coil codes. i.e. the one you just unplugged, and the one that is really doing it.

I see you are new, here is the cylinder arrangement so you will know which coil you just unplugged -

My cams Are now welded and the ignition miss is fixed man this car is fun to drive. I drove a Taurus SE for 6 years before my new 98 SHO. Same view though
Thanks you very much Eric
