I got a 90 SHO adn when it was parked to go inside the the store and came back out. The car didnt start. The battery died almost right away and the fuel pump didnt seem to be working since nothing was coming out of the fuel rail when the button was pressed to check for fuel. The car was towed to a garge where the found out that the starter is constantly staying engaged. which is probably why the battery died so fast. And the coolant fan seems to be staying on also, so we had to dissconnect that. Something simialr like this happened in jan a few months ago when the car wouldnt start and their was sno fuel coming out. But the garage put in a new fuel pump assembly and everything seemed to be fine afterwards. I dont know if it just the fuel pump or if its even the FP.
Can any body help me out with some info as to why the car wont start (mainly) and why the starter is staing egaged. How hard is it to replace the starter? Im looking at a duralast starter from autozone for 70ish. But evenafter the starter is replaced will the problem with it staying engaed be fixed and when thats fixed will the fuel pump probalem be fixed. Im thinking the FP problem wil be fixed and that the problem is the starter or some ground that shorted out somewhere.
But PLEASE HELP me.
Thanx for any help or info with this. Dont want to let this SHO die, not yet :salute:

Same!!!

I've been searching throughout the forum for what this problem is, but I haven't found anything! My fuel pump gets little power to one wire and none to the others on either side..

I'm checking my harness for a possible short or improper ground, but I can't find my way around my EEC/PCM area!

When you say the starter stays engaged, is it constantly cranking?
