I'm needing new struts & at least new rear springs for my 95 atx. I got some Napa Response front struts for free and just got some Monroe-matic rear struts for cheap (The Napas are just rebadged Monroes). While they aren't exactly what I was wanting, I can't complain about a new set of struts for less than $100. Has anybody used these struts, and how do they compare to sensa-tracs? Also, will the Eibach springs work with these struts, or should I get the Moogs? I found a good deal on Eibachs, but if the car won't drive well with them or wear out the struts quickly it won't be worth it. I bought my sho mainly to have something to tinker with, but I do plan on taking it to the drag strip and local short track for their one-on-one street car races.

The Monroe-matic are their cheap struts. You will get you what you pay for. The Eibachs may work but with using cheaper struts they may not last long. Also they discontinued the Eibach's so make sure they have them.

The previous owner of my SHO installed Monroe-Matics and honestly they're not that bad. They ride smooth I think and handle decent when punishing a cloverleaf or the occasional hard turn. Now depending what your intentions with the car are depends on what route you should go with suspension. Do you plan on tracking the car or auto crossing it?

I had seen that they discontinued the Eibachs, that's why I'm wanting to get them while I still can if they will work. It's not a track car by any means, but I do plan on taking it to the track to have a little fun every once in a while. There's no autocross events in my area anymore, but the local .395 mile semi-banked circle track holds what they call "one-on-one drags" for street cars. Two cars make one lap around the track with an inside and outside lane separated by cones. I understand that the Monroe-Matics are cheap, I'm just not sure how cheap, you know?

They are about the cheapest strut made for a SHO. I found the PO of my white 91 had put on those struts sometime recently before I got it , and while it did have saggy rear springs too, the whole car handled like complete junk in any kind of corner IMO.

Now I am use to my car on intrax/sensatracs ( which I think is a perfect mix for DD/track use ) but honestly I don't think that I would run anything less then the sensatracs on a SHO. Ive found KYB's and the basic monro-matics to be not be worth the materials they are made out of.

I would def snatch up some eibachs if anywhere has them as they are not sold new anymore. Good luck with whatever set up you go with .

Haha! Thanks for the warning! I had planned on getting sensa-tracs before I got the free napa struts, so I'll probably just see how they do while I fix a few other things on the car. Then I'll switch to sensa-tracs.

You cant pass up great deals as long as you always know exactly what your getting. They should hold on ok on stock springs. But if you do get some eibachs I would upgrade to the ST or better. Did you change your strut mounts while doing the struts ?

I haven't changed the struts yet, but I was actually just thinking about the strut mounts. I should change them while I'm changing the struts.
