Hello all,

I purchased a Stage II brake kit which looks beautiful, and I can't wait to complete it. While I was looking through the parts and doing a sample fitting, I came across these parts (see pics). There are 4 of them, but that doesn't mean I need all of them. Any one know if I need these to put the Stage II brakes on the front of the SHO? It's essentially a Mustang GT brake caliper and pads. I don't see where they could fit. They look like they would normally hold the pads in place, but there is already another little metal piece at the top of the caliper that seems to do the job.

Thanks.

Its tough to explain but if you hold the caliper in your lap sitting long ways, these pieces fit in the ends where the hard portion of the pads sits in the bracket on the caliper. They are supposed to keep the pads from rattling around I believe and they should fit in there. My cobra calipers on my mustang have something similar to those.

There just doesn't seem to be any place for the little fingers to go. Could the GT calipers be a little different? My backup plan is to go check out a rebuilt caliper and see if they're included/attached.

jb, do a search under my screen name for the GT brake upgrade I did on my 90. You'll see in the pictures where those clips go. They basically snap over the caliper mount where the pads sit, and go between the pads and the caliper mount.

I throw those shims in the garbage everytime. I've never had a problem with rattling pads. You never should either as there should always be some tension on them from the piston on the caliper keeping a slight pressure on the pads.

I don't use the anti-rattle spray/grease either.
