When I turn off my windshield wipers they stop at the top of the window instead of the bottom. I was wondering if any one had this problem before. I put in a different multifunction switch thinking that might fix it but it still does it. I can hear a clicking noise under the dash near the windsheild defrost ducts. I don't think it is the motor because they still work they just stop in the wrong place. Any ideas?

Ohh, and this is on my '91 SHO.

Thanks,
Efren

Its the motor. From my understanding, be it wrong or right, the wiper motor has gears in it and that first gear is stripped and therefore in the off position it does not grab and goes right back up. You do need a new wiper motor. Very simple to replace, but kinda pricey.

It works something like that its, 5AM and I have a headache. :D

If I take the motor out and dissasemble it will I be able to see the damage?

Also, does it matter what position the wipers are in when I pull the motor so that every thing is in the correct location when I put in a new one?

Thanks,
Efren

You can take it apart if ya want, but it would just be a pain. Also, when installing just take your wiper blade arms off and put them back on when you are done with the install.
