i bought a black 89 last year that you could only open with the keyless pad... till OffroadSHO pulled the battery cables out and the drivers door got taken off.

i left parts in the trunk and used my own key to open it.

a 10lb sledge hammer.

I moved the carpet and unbolted it. then I bent the little metal finger the lock uses. I can't use the lock but every thing works now. Should take less then a half hour.

Dammit...

And you wonder us older guys call you Forum kiddies.....not meant to be a compliment

FIX IT RIGHT!!!!!

SHOs are not for folks with no money. Do the job right, and have the satisfaction of a job well done. Cheap-ass fixes are ********.

If you get a small screwdriver, loosen the plastic cover and push the lock mechanism up from the bottom. Should pop easily.

Isn't the keyless code printed on a sticker somewhere in the glove or in the trunk?

I had a young kid play around with the key pad and would unlock the doors and pop the trunk in under 5 minutes almost every time. Kinda not a secure feeling.

the gen 1 and 2 taurus is so easy to get into without damaging anything. All you need is a skinny, longish screwdriver. I can unlock doors, defeat a locked trunk popper...all in less than a minute.

The only thing I can't open without damage is the glovebox. Maybe I'll make a vid...

Why...afraid the "15-20 Year Old Taurus Theft Ring" will find out about it? At least they won't have to break anything to steal the car...except the ignition...

Not worried about the theft ring. I just don't see the point of giving clueless idiots a heads up on how to make trouble. There's enough out there. No point in making their idiocy easier or more diverse.

My mom had a rental sable with the code when I was a kid, and I pressed the buttons for a while until I got the door to unlock. I don't even think I knew what those buttons were there for...

i pulled out the drivers side rear speaker then found the code for the keyless on the module which is located right under the speaker. Took me all of 2 minutes
