When I play my radio, if I am playing a song with pretty much any bass at all then the sub will rattle like a Mother****. Im not sure what is causing this too happen, I'm not sure if it's an easy screw down fix or if something is wrong and I need a new sub, but it really ruins any music because the entire back of my car is filled with a loud rattling. If you know what it is or what I should do any help would be great, thanks

Do you have a ported sub? If you do, the box can rattle and make it sound like it's the sub. If you are hearing a bouncing noise like a marble inside your sub, you lost the sub. If you hear an almost farting noise like a busted seal on the outside of the sub...well, then you lost your sub. Either way subs make noise, BUT they only make certain noises. If you run a sub too long shot like that the sub could implode. Meaning that the sub will shoot outwards about 3" (depending on the sub) and become rock solid pressing against the subs center.

In other words, find out if it's the box, the sub, or maybe even your trunk and doors rattling. :thumb:

If you havent checked to see if it just needs to be screwed down first id check that. other than that theres a good chance the sub is shot.

By your description I'm fairly positive the sub is shot. I've gone through 2 like that already. I've just disconnected it and am buying aftermarket soon. If you come to find it's the sub and don't want to go aftermarket, Elemental Designs makes a great replacement which should fit snug into the stock enclosure without much effort: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?t=2&products_id=33

Sounds like you could have blown the sub. Does it sound like sand rattling inside your sub? Another thing you can check is the excursion of the woofer by pushing it in and out, it should go in and out smoothly. A rough spot isn't good.

If it's not the sub that's the problem, you could try using some dynamat. A lot of people don't like it because it adds weight to the car though.
