my od is stuck on?

od has always been on since i got the car. dont know where to start troubleshooting it. know a lot about sho's with mtx. how do i do it and what is the routing of this sys. to tble-shoot? thanks:sun:

And if it doesnt turn off the wires are broke that run down the shifter under the center console. Most of us just live with it lol no real reason to turn it off.

I would think if it was bad for the trans then it would work the other way around where they would have you turn it on rather than off. Is it really that annoying to push the little skinny pedal just a little bit to get it to kick out down?

Driving on hilly back roads cruising around 45-50 it's nice to have the overdrive OFF because the torque converter will stay locked in 3rd gear, providing a nice direct feel. If you leave the OD on, the converter doesn't really stay locked in 3rd gear, and it likes to shift into 4th gear with an unlocked converter, providing the "slushbox" feel. FWIW, my od off light is burnt out, but the button does function correctly. I have to remember whether I turned it off or not, which isn't much of an issue because it's usually only turned off on the road leading to my house, which afterward the car is shut off.
