i have a 95 SHO and when i am driving along, normally, my car will just die on me or it will clunk(like it's shifting hard) and then it will make a bunch of noises(like metal on metal, sputtering sounds-weird stuff that i've never heard it do till it started dying)this has been goin on for a while but it would always start after and i wouldn't have a problem, anyways today i was driving home and my car clunked and the check enging light went on and it didn't have a lot of power, went i got to my street it died and i lost my power steering, i almost made it by coasting home but i had to pull over and try to start it which it wouldn't at first but them i finally did and i made it home, when i tried to start it my dad said the engine rocked back and forth(like a motor mount bracket was broken)i couldn't start it unless i gave it gas which it then finally did start. if anybody has any ideas or a similar problem with thier SHO could you please post your ideas or email me @ [email protected], i would really appreciate it thanks

It really sounds like a bad CPS (crank position sensor) which usually fails due to a leaky water pump. Since your check engine light came on there should be some more clues for you if you take the time to pull the stored computer codes. If you can't do this yourself (or get your dad to do it) then take the car to autozone and have them do it for free. Here's a basic guide of how to read the computer codes:

Welcome to the forum. Is your car manual or automatic transmission? I think your best bet is to check the codes as was stated and check back with the results. If things get stuck try e-mailing the New England SHO Specialists. They have a banner ad here somewhere or are on the sponsors page.

Erin's got a blue 95 ATX. She had the full-off 60k earlier this year (so we're talking new everything). After the 60k, she got into an accident, and the car wasn't running right after the fender-bender. She's been back & forth with the body shop over the issue, and I've talked to her on the phone earlier this summer about it. If you did get the Superchip / LPM, again, remove it & see if that helps the situation. Give us another summary of the mods you've done to that car, too.

Welcome aboard, Erin, and sorry to hear you've still got issues with that gorgeous blue SHO. Hope someone here's got some suggestions that might help you out.

Erin, Please post if you find out anything. I am having the same problem except that my '95 SHO MTX does not stall. Otherwise the symptoms are the same.
I have already replaced the CID, DIS, and done some other cleanup. So far, I have not cured the problem.
I ran codes and I get 219, 172, 176.
I wonder if you are getting the same?

172 and 176 are O2 sensors. 219 sounds like PIP but im not sure on that one.

(Why do I know this off the top of my head...)

It's been a while since I talked to Erin about it, but if I remember correctly, it was a glancing / side-to-side fender hit (2 cars along side, one tried to take her lane kind of thing).

Maybe a crushed charcoal-canister? It is mounted fairly close to the fender on the left side, I believe. I know those can cause some strange problems...
