Let me cook here for a minute -
I got a SHO fluids care package today (Diff fluid, Trans fluid , Cabin air filter , aluminum underhood dress up caps) and it was the saddest gift I've probably ever received.
So there's one other guy up here with a SHO and we've become pretty good friends. After he got back from visiting family in Greece and not driving his car he texted me " Uhoh I see some coolant on the garage floor"
So he gets it to the Ford dealer and has Brett check it out. Of course it was the water pump! Oof! once the pump and chains is done they tell him the rear turbo is going and the ptu has a leak at 80k miles! So long story short he sold it since it really wasn't worth dumping all of that into with what things cost these days. This is all after finding out his position no longer exists at his company and he's been made redundant
It was really sad but ******* if that's not how it goes with this platform. We met up today and he was driving his Toyota Tacoma that his dad had bought new here in town in 81 and had been residing at the farm in Greece most of it's life.
We commiserated and I threw him the keys to my C63 since my SHO is at the fabricators and we motored around for about a good 30 minutes talking about a bunch of different topics. By the end he had a big smile on his face and was feeling better.
Cars are Therapy! I'm a particularly ****** up individual after doing dumb stuff in Afghanistan and cars are therapy for me and I'm a big advocate for making that more widely understood.
I've talked about it a bit here if anyone cares
00:55:32 - I talk about how the time-change affects car crashes, the NUTTIEST pass in recent NASCAR history, AND I talk to Army combat veteran Sean Bedingfield…

a cool broski who does a podcast talked to me about it
