how can i improve it? at high rpm near/at redline especially the shift is useless, its slow and mushy, i just replaced the trans fluid and filter hoping it would help it out, but to no avail. i used 'middle of the road' fluid, not expensive nor super cheap.

maybe im shifting wrong?

i usually bump it form 1 to 2 just above 60kph (37mph) and let off the throttle a bit and sometimes it then bumps the rev limiter around 80 (49) before finally shifting. i've also left my foot buried in the floor but that seems worse, my parents modern cars however seem to prefer that. i don't mind venturing into the transmission again if theirs something i can simply adjust.

on a side note, oil pressure!
at my 700/800 rpm idle i get 5 or less psi, at 1000/1100 i get 10 psi (that's the 'normal' idle right?) at normal driving in the city between 1500-2500 it stays about 20, i checked 1 rod bearing when i fixed my oil pan leak, they will probably get replaced next year or something engine has 300,000 km on it. and i just completed a front 60k.

you need to replace your rod bearings on your engine ASAP . If you don't soon you will spin a bearing, and this is not a if but it is a very soon. it is not that hard to do and it is less than 50 bucks but it NEEDS to be done ASAP.

the sloppy shit is in the tune. buy a tweecer inport a more agressive tune and have a blast. you can build the tranny all you want but the programming on the stock shifts is garbage.

edit: if you are going to buy a tweecer don't get the RT it is pretty useless on the ATX + if you are just using it to change tranny parameters it will save you about 200 bucks.
