I would like to rebuild my transmission in my 91 SHO but I can not find any one that sells rebuild kits. I know that they have been removed from the market a long time ago. So I would like to get a list started of parts that you could still get for these transmissions. I am talking internal parts not external parts. Any parts that people have used in the past that are still being sold today would be great.

I think the only way you can do this is by scouting out some low mileage mtx transmissions and swapping out parts.

There are some new parts out there, people do have them, including a few myself, but sorry they are not for sale. Do have some used though that could be, but havn't taken inventory on exactly what and condition yet.

Stuff to have on hand:
-Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker
-input shaft seal
-blue loctite
-couple good synchronizer rings

Whats wrong with the transmission?
grinding? whirring noises?

Some of it is stuff you inspect when you rip it apart and replace as needed; input shaft bearings, main shaft bearings, countershaft bearings, diff bearings... it all depends what your symptoms are.

If you post back symptoms I might be able to help you figure stuff out beforehand.

no my clutch is bad and I have a spar transmission that has over 100K on it so I just want to go through it and put new parts in it so when the trans that is in the car goes bad I would have a trans that is rebuilt to put in. For now I just want to get parts to gather and then save up for a new diff then send the trans to my friends dad and have him rebuild it for me.

Most of the parts are pretty expensive, obsolete, or hard to find; so unless you wanna try and replace everything, I'd recommend taking it apart and inspecting it to determine what parts are worn so you can get replacements.
