I decided to modify the injectors rather than the rails. I just used a dremel tool, and checked to see how they fit along the way. Also, I had to use 2 of the top seals to make up for the larger gap. It might not be the best way to do it, but it was easier than modifying the rails!! The left over plastic that I didn't dremel worked out nice as a spacer. :woohoo:

you used a dremel, to shave the injectors:oogle: Why does that sound like its going to leak fuel, you probably should have had a machine shop do that, unless im missing the point, on how you actually modified them.

All he shaved was the plastic. The only way that would leak fuel would be, if he hit the fuel passage and that's a bit deeper into the injector(and is metal).

I paid my machine shop 25 bucks to bore my rails. That was alot easier to me than destroying 400$ injectors.

and they have been put through a beating and back and are fine, I hardly ground anything off them, most was off the caliper, plus they don't leak fuel so im not worried:biggrin:

half-way there, I think.

Agreed, I think I paid $40 to have mine bored out and polished. No way did I ever consider modifing the injectors. Leaking fuel in the engine compartment is a very bad thing.... just ask me why I know.

Yes

I am definitely going to make sure they don't leak, and I live in Missoula, MT and couldn't find a machine shop that would modify my rails, so this is where I am left. The injectors still have plastic at the top so they shouldn't leak!

yeah my bad guys, I didn't know how injectors were modified, I thought you machined the actual metal tip of the injector to fit in the rail, that was why I was like dremel:oogle: haha forget I said anything, carry on:)

Hey bubster47, what do you drive? I have only seen one sho since I've been back in town, a titanium 89. I live down South avenue. Actually, I guess I did see a white gen2 at the UofM campus one time.

I have a 92 Black SHO nothing fancy yet, but I'm working on it. It's been out of comission for about 6 months now. I also picked up a 93 at a police auction, supposidly all is wrong is the timing belt!! $85 to get it, then $55 for the belt! Nice!! They are pretty rare in Missoula!
