I've been toying with the idea of turning my 93 ATX into an MTX by parting out my 91. I have one question at this point that I'm not quite so sure about.

Do you really need to modify the MLP and just leave it hang in your engine compartment when you do the ATX to MTX modification? Or could you just leave the MLP out and make your connections at the harness??? Has anyone done this? Does anyone have pinouts for it?

Here's what I'm talking about.

I ditched it.

Its there to show you how it works , theres no point of leaving that there if your wires are correctly connected.

You can try just leaving the MLP disconnected, but this doesn't always work. You can also just do a little rewiring to have the same effect, which is what i wound up doing on the Pumpkin after the MLP popped solder joints a couple of times.

To bypass the MLP connect the two wires to enable the starter and wire a resistor into the transmission circuit. As seen below connect the wires to pins 5 and 8, and then wire a 400-ohm resister between pins two and three.
If you want backup lamps, wire the backup switch through pins 6 and 7.

You can also wire the clutch interlock switch through pins 5 and 8 if you want to keep that function.

That's what I was afraid of, solder joints breaking.

Manual Lever Position sensor. It tells the computer which of PRNDL is selected in an ATX. For an ATX->MTX conversion it usually needs attention.
