Anyone have any experience with this? I heard it can goof up radio/nav reception which is why I did NOT get metal tint. However while installing my replacement sunshade the mechanic's "wrench slipped" and now there's a penny sized scuff in my rear tint.

Oh the dealer said they'd replace it but guess what, their installer only does metal tint. Of course he tells me it will #1 match my carbon tint fine on the side windows and #2 won't affect any of the signals but there's no way to be sure. Not that the internet helps any, this is clearly a ymmv issue from what I can tell.

Yes I know I could maybe make a stink and waste a bunch of my time and have them pay to have it done at a real tint place, but it almost is such a small spot it's almost not worth the effort. So does anyone have metal tint on their rear window and if so how is it working out. Thanks.

I don't have it, but! Since the Sirius/Nav antenna is on roof, I don't see where it would effect it. As for AM/FM, I think the antenna is imbedded in the rear window. Again, I don't see this causing much of a problem, but don't quote me!

When I went to tint the installers prefaced. . .the metallic tint may affect radio signals such as AM/FM or cell phones/wireless. They suggested I could "upgrade" to their non-metallic tint to prevent any reception/transmittal issues.

I don't have any issues with metallic, I went 35% on the front two doors and 15% on the rear windows.

Try a Google or Bing search on metallic tint issues and you'll get some hits.
