:bonk: This might sound like a broken record, but I need help!

But first of all does it really improve braking and will it fit 16" slicers?

Looking towards the 96upgrade but need list of parts, since Im gonna do it myself. What do I need from the junk yard and what do I need to get from autozone?

Just an FYI if you have a hard time finding one at a local salvage yard there are many available online. Even with shipping some are cheaper than local depending what part of the country you are in.

Or... You can get the whole kit from the guys that invented it in the first place.

The Kit is comprised of 94' - 99' Calipers (Steel piston, not phenolic), 96' - 99' SHO & 01' - Current Taurus Caliper brackets, 598 pads, larger 11.6" diameter rotors, and in your case: knuckles from a 94' - 95 Taurus or Sable w/ ABS.

We have knuckles in stock with fresh bearings/ hubs for $150.00 as well as the basic kit for $279.99. Sourcing the calipers on your own is your best bet because they tend to run an arm and a leg.

"Invented" is a strong word... "Discovered" might be a better one. :)

Valid point Mike, but I could say we discoverd that it worked and then invented the upgrade.

Semantics doesn't change the fact that we did it first.

Or a dedicated webpage for it. I found the SHOtimes page very hard to follow when infact its a very simple upgrade with very few parts. If I ever get around to picking out a domain name I will have a dedicated brake page for sure.

As for "invention" of the upgrade, well, I dont think any one person or business should take credit. If it wasnt you, it would have been someone else shortly thereafter. The upgrade itself is so simple I dont think there is anything to claim.

Yea same here, in addition i suggested a sticky because there are quite a few threads on this topic and searching doesnt always work the results end up confusing and have statements contradicting each other.

I know that I've posted this information before, either in this part of the forum or in the brakes maintainance/troubleshooting section. I couldn't find it in the quick search I did, but I think its there.

what if you have a 91 SLO without ABS also?

will the abs knuckles cause a problem? I don't want ABS

and I do I need any other parts beyond what a 91 sho would?

You can run 94-95 spindles from a non ASB Slo, so that will give you more choices for spindles. 89 SHO's have that option also since they are non-ABS.
Other than that the parts are the same. 94-95 ABS spindles have a provision for mounting the ABS sensor.
