I am trading out my 2 Bullet mufflers and stock resonator for a single magnaflow in place of the resonator and straight pipe the rear section. I know a couple members have done this and wondering if they (you) have used the 5x8 or the 4" round mufflers?

I am looking at getting something a little LOUDER than the Bullets so a helpful tip in the length of the muffler I should buy would be wonderful! I have a catless y-pipe and 3rd cat delete if anyone should care to know.

Should be loud enough. I would imagine that the round one would fit better, as the resonator is like a bullet muffler anyways.

i did dual exhaust out the sides of my car and used a flowmaster hushpower muffler it fits down the center but hangs down just a bit. i also removed the third cat i could have kept it but its sounds a lot better. heres a before and after vid of my car with a ***** 15 dollar autozone muffler and then the flowmaster. its only quietr with the new muffler because there was some holes in the third cats and exhaust piping that was replaced....

Paul, how would a flowmaster sound on a completely catless car though? I love the flowmaster sound and would prefer it hands down to any other muffler, but I know some have had the v6 kinda rasp/ting to the exhaust when running FMs at the stock location with catless y's and 3rd cat delete.

I'm soon to find out. :) But I doubt if there will be any rasp. Maybe at ~4200 rpm if any.

It had that grand prix kind of sound I didnt like it. On the other hand the true duals with magnaflows is louder and sounds better.

I've got a unique exhaust. It is a 3" flex that has a 3" pipe where the resonator was then goes back to the OEM pipe for the bends around the fuel tank. Then back to 3" with a straight through 3" Flowmaster "muffler".
