Hello to all, Ive been reading through the forums for a few weeks, and finally decided to register. I currently have a 2011 SHO (black on black w/ performance package) on order, set to be delivered August 1 2011, right as i get back from Iraq.
In anticipation of the new ride, ive "put in cart" the AirRaid CAI and Corsa exhaust at least 10 times each, convicing myself that buying them while over here and storing at my dads house is a good idea (im sure he wouldn't mind ) I have been wondering what else people have had success with in regards to aftermarket parts. I've noticed the selection is limited for the most part, and I'm not really sure were to look around. Any ideas would be great, though I won't exactly be able to do anything about it for a few more months.
Here's hoping all goes well and my shiny new SHO will be everything i hope it will be

Welcome, I saved me monies while I was there in 08-09 and picked up a 2011 in Aug of last year. The 3M clear bra seems to be working well for me so far. Be safe!

I bought a brand new Corsa exhaust system for my last car (Caliber srt-4) from a guy who ordered it before his car arrived. Something happened so he did not get his car, and I got the exhaust for 1/2 the list price. I would suggest holding off until you either have the car, or are a couple weeks away. Maybe a new system will be released for less money during the next 6 months.

If you don't get the Livernois performance tune, you will never know how good the SHO can be, even if you wait til you get home to order it, I would consider this a must have mod. Thanks for your service, stay safe.

Two more mods to consider, the H&R Springs and also the MGP Caliper covers, and then of course, there's the big brake options I think they're available for our cars from Baer and Brembo.

Oh yes...get the springs. Seeing them on a new SHO has definitely changed my mind about the way they look.

Yeah, I'm thinking they're high on my list of mods..they really look good. And improve the handling.

Welcome, and a salute to a fellow servicemember! :salute: I just got back from there myself not too long ago, so I feel your pain. Hope your deployment goes smoothly.

That's a really good point, I'm definitely holding off on any purchases until i return. doesn't help the wait though

Good ideas, I didn't know there were springs that were worth getting yet, and I've been eying the big brake packages .

Some Ultra-lightweight wheels such as the Breyton GT models for sale on tirerack.com. You will have increased MPG, quicker turning, faster stopping, noticeable acceleration improvement, brakes will last longer......
And of course some BAAAAD A$$$ wheels.

Unsprung weight reduction on higher torque cars really lets you know, so if you could go with a Breyton GT or even lighter wheel, you will be very pleased, as they are understated and classy. In other words you won't look like you are going to a Hip Hop concert.

You will LOVE your SHO! My wife's 2011 is fantastic and the purchase through ENCS saved a ton of money when I got back from Iraq!!!
First and foremost...buy the Livernois Tuner from Rick Leblanc and make sure you tell him you are Military! The best bang for the buck you can imagine. I also added the AirRaid CAI that Amazon had for $230. I hear (pun intended) that the Corsa adds a sweet sound and free's up some HP, but the tune is by far the best $perHP!!!
Good luck with that and maybe you can get stationed in Germany and really push your SHO to the max!
Mike
