Sorry to say this, but I'd go with neither. I don't think there's a single Gen 3 owner who has actually had a SuperChips run correctly on their car.
An LPM would be a better choice since it's programmed for your car specifically, but I don't know how many people have actually installed an LPM on a Gen 3.

I think Mark has the correct answer. Skipping the idea and saving yourself money (possibly a lot of money) is the way to go. On the V8 mailing list there were a fair number of horror stories from people that had installed chips.

By the way Mark, nice look to the wheels in your photo. My 17s will not go on until next summer.

Don't know much about the LPM, but definetly stay away from the SuperChip.

We tried it on my brother's Mustang GT and it was a disaster. It worked fine at first, but then out of nowhere the car started misfiring and stalling. Car & Driver had similiar problems when they tried one in a '99 Cougar. I have also never heard any gen III SHO owners have success with them.

Absolute best first thing is intake. Some form of Porterization to get cold air in large amounts to the motor. This is worth around 20 HP on a dyno (or, it was on my run). Look at the V8SHO.COM site for this kind of thing.

IPT is willing to make a true cold air kit. I'm working on the design of it and then my brother will put it in CAD. It shouldn't be hard to make it from that point. Maybe we could get some people to commit on this. If someone could get this out on the email list I'd appreciate it.

This is what it would look like:

What it would replace is the saxicone, airbox, and the hose from the MAF to TB. Just replacing that hose alone should help with airflow due to its ribbing. The air filter is located in the fender. I'm designing a shield for it so there is no chance of taking on water. I'm not sure on prices, that is up to IPT.
